Last night I managed to upgrade (actually restore) the iOS on the iPod Touch 4th Generation to 5.0.1. Subsequently, I did a jailbreak using redsn0w 0.9.9b8. This is a tethered jailbreak. Maybe a few more weeks we would get the Untethered version. DFU mode on iPod is might easier than on iPad. After jailbreak, I ran Cydia to update the relevant packages.
